Le livre « Ce qui reste, ceux qui restent », édité par les Editions Process, témoigne du ressenti des habitants de l’immeuble Tisserand à Bogny-sur-Meuse (Ardennes), contraints de quitter définitivement leur habitation : l’immeuble est devenu vétuste et voué à la destruction. Cette projet a vu le jour dans le cadre d’une résidence artistique à l’initiative du bailleur social HABITAT 08 en partenariat avec l’association de photographie contemporaine La Salle d’Attente.
Portraits, paysages, vues d’intérieurs dialoguent avec les témoignages d’habitants, parfois résilients, parfois amers, recueillis par l’artiste. C’est cet ensemble complexe qu’ont voulu restituer les Editions Process à travers le livre, un objet sensible qui cherche à rendre – avec une direction artistique qui amplifie le dialogue entre les écrits et les images – le plus préhensible possible l’intention de Camille Gharbi.
