Trans-Europe-Express nous raconte une succession d’arrêts dans les villes, un voyage à la recherche de moments magiques et de moments disparus. C’est aussi une tentative de renouer avec mes années d’enfance et mon présent avec des parents décédés. Employé du chemin de fer avec une passion pour le rail, mon père emmenait la famille chaque été dans un joyeux et immuable rituel de longs voyages en train en France et en Europe. Je voulais saisir l’occasion de la vie qui se déroulait devant moi. Prenez un tram sous la pluie à So a, traversez une fanfare fatiguée à Vilnius, descendez une ruelle colorée à Galway, marchez le long de la « East Side Gallery » et perdez-vous dans le labyrinthe de stèles à un mémorial à Berlin… Malgré les contraintes de la réalité, j’espère toujours un heureux accident.
