Until Death Do Us Part se concentre sur le rôle inattendu que jouent les cigarettes dans les mariages chinois. En gage d'appréciation, il est de coutume que la mariée allume une cigarette pour chaque homme invité. Puis la mariée et le marié sont invités à jouer des jeux à fumer des cigarettes d'une ingénuité sans précédent. Cette publication rend hommage à une tradition où l'amour et la mort marchent main dans la main.
Ces photos proviennent du projet Beijing Silvermine, une archive d'un demi-million de négatifs récupérés au fil des ans à partir d'une usine de recyclage à la périphérie de Pékin.
