Pierres blanches retrace plus de vingt années de marches solitaires de Thomas Dhellemmes, guidé par la lumière diffuse de son Polaroïd SX-70. Sur les sentiers de Normandie, entre chemins de douaniers et sentiers côtiers, l’artiste avance avec lenteur, à l’écoute du monde fragile qui l’entoure.
Ce livre est un voyage intérieur, balisé par des “pierres blanches”, symboles de passages sûrs, d’instants lumineux, d’émotions suspendues. Ces formes naturelles, discrètes mais puissantes, deviennent repères, échos silencieux d’une sérénité recherchée.
Thomas Dhellemmes photographie avec un outil rare, imparfait, dont l’imprécision même ouvre l’image à toutes les interprétations. Chaque Polaroïd capte une sensation fugace, une ligne d’horizon, une trace d’émerveillement devant la nature ou l’invisible.
Entre journal intime et carnet de bord poétique, Pierres blanches rend hommage à ceux qui l’ont précédé – peintres, écrivains, photographes – et qui ont nourri son regard. Le livre devient ainsi une invitation à ralentir, à voir autrement, à se laisser guider par les signes que le paysage murmure à qui sait l’écouter.
