Publié par RVB Books sous la direction artistique de Beda Achermann, le livre rassemble une collection de clichés personnels et éditoriaux aux genres mélangés, entre portraits, natures mortes et paysages. Le terme polysémique PLAY est le JEU qui fait écho à l'insolence et au sens de l'humour qui habitent chaque image. C'est le JEU d'acteur évoquant le rôle majeur tenu par les modèles qui sont mis en scène. C'est aussi le début d'une vidéo, d'une mélodie... un nouveau JEU. Imaginez la fantaisie, les couleurs, le souci du détail ; Cher Horowitz de Clueless coexistant avec Carlotta Valdes de Vertigo ; la Roue de la fortune, le gazpacho de Femmes au bord de la crise de nerfs, la maquette d'un plateau de télévision ; tout cela dialoguant ensemble, et vous obtiendrez un catalogue d'images avec, comme fil conducteur, l'univers fabuleux de la télévision et du cinéma des années 1990. Tout cela forme une bibliothèque visuelle de notre pop culture collective, avec une particularité : tout semble décalé. La séquence d'images présentée ici a été pensée comme une séance de zapping, où le glam côtoie le bien de consommation courante, l'exceptionnel le trivial, le beau le laid, le trop sérieux le trop drôle. Les lieux photographiés semblent plus faux que des décors de cinéma, les jeunes mannequins imitant les grandes stars. PLAY est la parodie d'un journal de bord, le journal intime d'un grand studio hollywoodien à l'adolescence de l'âge d'or.
