La Storia Segreta delle 32 Immagini di Finta Guerra prend la forme d'un envoi postal contenu dans un sac. Un premier livre, enveloppé dans du papier journal, présente vingt-six photographies en noir et blanc ainsi qu'une lettre et une boîte de papier photo Agfa Brovira scannés. Est aussi inclut la ficelle utilisée pour empaqueter le colis ainsi que son étiquette.
Le tout a été expédié de Jaipur en Inde. Les photographies argentiques noir et blanc ont des noirs très doux et un contraste assez faible, sûrement dû aux chimies utilisées qui devaient être périmées ou tout du moins altérées. Au dos des photos est apposé le tampon du photographe. Les lettres, adressées à une personne du nom de Franca, évoquent les photos comprises dans le paquet, dans l'espoir qu'elle puisse les conserver de manière approprié. Six autres photos de la même série ont été expédiées à Tommaso Trini pour qu'elles soient publiées dans un magazine.
La page dactylographiée est une réflexion personnelle sur la difficulté inhérente à l'expérience du photo-reporter. Elle est signée Gianni. Les bords de la boîte Agfa Brovira sont abimés suite aux nombreux contrôles effectués aux différentes frontières. La ficelle utilisée est composée de différents fils de chanvre colorés, reliés les uns les autres à la main. Le journal qui sert d'emballage est un exemplaire de "The times of India" du 25 décembre 1977. Une étiquette montre le tampon de la poste Indienne avec la date d'envoi ainsi que l'adresse en Italie du destinataire.
