Jean-Christophe Béchet poursuit depuis plusieurs décennies une œuvre photographique caractérisée par une photographie réalisée dans la rue, en passant, ou ce que l’on nomme Street photo dont la tradition photographique américaine a pérennisé le nom en genre.
Il revisite dans ce nouvel ouvrage des photographies prises tout au long de sa carrière qui interrogent particulièrement les différentes situations de ce type de photographie. Il souhaite à travers une centaine de photographies choisies et trois entretiens avec des spécialistes de l’image questionner ce qu’est cette photographie, ce qu’elle peut mettre en jeu, tentant d’en définir certains contours.
Le livre est accompagné d'un tirage limité signé.
