Sebastião Salgado n'a cessé de parcourir le monde pour dénicher et capturer en images les plus beaux endroits de la planète. Fondateur en 1994 de l’agence de presse Amazonas Images, ses reportages ont reçu de nombreuses récompenses dont le prix W. Eugene Smith pour la photographie humaniste en 1982. Entre 2004 et 2012, Salgado réalise une oeuvre monumentale intitulée Genesis composée de séries de photographies toujours en noir et blanc de paysages, de faune, de flore et de communautés humaines qui vivent encore selon leur traditions et cultures ancestrales.
