Créé par Lee Shulman, The Anonymous Project rassemble et conserve des diapositives couleurs de la fin des années 1930 au milieu des années 1980, prises par des amateurs aux quatre coins du monde. Une extraordinaire énergie se dégage de ces archives intimes captées dans le cadre de la famille, du foyer, de la maison, documentant anniversaires, noëls, repas, soirées arrosées entre amis, pique-niques ou siestes au jardin. Les intenses couleurs et le piqué du Kodachrome capturent des instants intemporels et familiers formant le journal kaléidoscopique d’une époque.
Les familles immortalisent les temps forts qui rythment leur vie mais aussi les changements propres à la société de consommation d’après-guerre (l’arrivée du poste de télévision par exemple ou d’une voiture rutilante).
Séquencées de manière thématique, ces émouvantes archives anonymes célèbrent les « choses de la vie » et dessinent les contours d’une mémoire collective, ordinaire mais précieuse ; préface de Natacha Wolinski, photos en n.b.
